Nesma is a small candle studio on the French Riviera.

I make every candle sur mesure, shaped around the person, the place or the occasion it is for.

You choose the scent, the vessel and the mood, and I do the rest by hand. No two of my pieces are alike, and only the finest raw materials go into them.

I work at every scale, from a single piece for a villa or a yacht to a full set of candles for a wedding or a private event.

L'atelier

Fait à la main.

No factory and no shortcuts. I make each one myself, from the wick to the finished candle.

Une histoire vraie

A yacht captain handed me a sea-worn piece of his boat. I turned it into a vanilla candle. It scents the room without even being lit.

Today it is one of the most treasured objects on board.

La préparation

Behind one piece.

I start on paper, with sketches and measurements. Then I seal the vessel by hand so it can safely hold a flame, pour the candle and check it by eye.

Fresh and bright, like windows open onto the sea. Sea salt gives it a mineral, airy start, mandarin adds a juicy citrus note, and a clean musk holds everything together. This is the candle for the start of the day: I like it in a kitchen, on a terrace at the end of the afternoon, or in a cabin on board. Each one is poured by hand in matte white glass.

Lavender is the scent people have turned to for centuries to slow down. I soften it with musk and tonka bean, so it stays warm and never smells of soap. This is the candle for the end of the day: light it early in the evening, in the bedroom or by the bath, and blow it out before you go to sleep. Each one is poured by hand in matte black glass.
